We have started the year off with a bang. The elections have been held and we are again being lead by very competent leaders. Our Junior Shooting Program is getting off the ground with many new and younger shooters. We currently have 18 shooters in the program. We do not know if we will be as competitive as we have been in years past as we have lost many of our best shooters to graduation and moving on to college. The new younger shooters have not yet developed the upper body strength to maintain good off-hand shooting positions. We will be working on that problem while concentrating on proper shooting discipline. Plans have been confirmed for another great Marine Corps Birthday Ball. This year it will be held at the Sheridan Center (Best Western) on Saturday, November 10th. Governor Dave Freudenthal and his wife Nancy have been invited to join us as our Guests of Honor. They have acknowledged our request but are unable to make a commitment until early October. This years ball raffle prize is a Kimber Custom Target Pistol in .45 ACP. Tickets are available from any officer listed on this page. We have again made assurances that the Marine Corps Flag and the POW-MIA flags will fly at the Veterans Hospital in Sheridan. That is an honor and responsibility that we take very seriously. Funds have been forwarded to the Sheridan County Veterans Council to assure that there are flags available should one be torn or otherwise damaged.
