The Detachment is named after Capt. Gary S. Dillon a helicopter pilot who lost his life in a training mission during "Desert Shield". The Detachment was formed in 1990 and has 46 members, 29 of which are Life members. The Detachment is responsible for raising the Marine Flag each Nov.10th atop of the State Capitol which is attended by all eight Detachments. This is done by State Law, and the first in the Nation to do so, thanks to our Veteran Marine Legislators. TWELVE members belong to MODD #159 "CHINOOK"
