The Detachment is named after Capt. Gary S. Dillon a helicopter pilot who lost his life in a training mission during "Desert Shield". The Detachment was formed in 1990 and has 41 members, 20 of which are Life members. MODD #159 is also named for Dillon and has many PDD's from six of the eight NH Detachments. The Detachment is responsible for raising the Marine Flag each Nov.10th atop of the State Capitol which is attended by all eight Detachments. This is done by State Law, and the first in the Nation to do so, thanks to our Veteran Marine Legislators.
