All members are encouraged to attend the Department of WV MCL Annual Convention on May 9-10th, 2008. This event will be hosted by the Ripley Detachment. You may make your own room reservations at McCoy's Best Western by calling 304-372-9122. Room rates are 70.00 for single, just be sure and tell them you are with the Marine Corps League. Pre-registration is 5.00 or 7.00 at the door. Doors will open for registration on 5/9/07 at 16:30. The Saturday Banquet fee is 25.00. You may make checks payable to DEPT. OF WV MCL. Please mail fees no later than 4/25/08 to DEPT. OF WV MCL, ATTN: Dept. Convention, PO Box 522, Ripley, WV 26164. MODD Growl will be held Friday, May 9, 2008 1800-2000 in Convention Salon A. ===================================================================== All Detachment members are encouraged to participate in the Annual Armed Forces Day Parade in South Charleston, WV May 17, 2008. Parade step-off time 12PM, arrive by 11:15AM to be counted and find your place. There will be accomodations made for all ages and abilities. Immediately following will be a service at the Veteran's Memorial located at the State Capitol Complex at 2PM. Please plan to attend. Contact Rick Given for more information. ===================================================================== The Memorial Day Service at East Nitro United Baptist Church has been cancelled. please update your calendar. ===================================================================== On Saturday, May 24, 2008 we will be back in Eleanor for their annual Memorial Day service, which will start at 8PM. We will arrive at 7:30PM to set up to perform the Memorial Rifle Salute. The local American Legion will perform the flag presentation portion of the service as was done last year. For more information contact Rick Given. ===================================================================== On Sunday, May 25, 2008 we will be performing a flag folding service and presentation at the Cheylan Baptist Church, 10:30AM.
