We have had our charter signing and our Detachment name is now:

"Cpl. Walter L. Mann Detachment 1065"

This is in honor of Walter L. Mann. Walter was the driving force behind this detachment getting started and was our first Commandant. Cpl. Walter Mann served in the Marine Corps from 1943 to 1946. He participated in the Battle of Okinawa.
Cpl. Mann assumed guard duty at the Pearly Gates on 13 April 2009.
