Operation Call Home is a grass roots campaign started by Semper Fidelis Detachment of The Marine Corps League in Deptford, New Jersey to aid United States Military Service members serving overseas and at home. Calling Cards have been collected since February 2003 when the Iraqi Freedom war began. To date, over 109,000 phone cards have been sent to service men and women around the world. Patients in military hospitals in Afghanistan, Iraq, Germany and the United States have been recipients of our phone cards. The cost of this operation has been enormous and could not have been done without the many generous donations by so many grateful Americans. The are numerous people to thank, including the employees of Valero Refinery and NuStar for all of their fund raising events. Thanks also go to Nick Brandimarti for his generous contributions in memory of his son, Nick Bradimarti Jr., who he lost at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. We shall continue with our program to provide cards as long as there are conflicts abroad.
