Twin State Detachment #1010 was formed in 1998 and currently has a membership of 47 members. One of our deceased members was Bob Keeshan, (aka Captain Kangaroo). The Detachment was the first in the Department of New Hampshire to be sanctioned by the Toys for Tots Foundation with a full-time coordinator. The Detachment is active in the Adopt-a-Highway Program, Help a Marine Program, patriotism lectures to local schools, VA Hospital/DAV Volunteer Programs, military burial details, Color Guard, Boy Scouts/Eagle Scout programs. The Detachment also houses Teufelhund Pound #321 that currently has 17 mangy mutts. Detachment Elected Officers hold two year terms with no limit for consecutive terms. Appointed Officers will keep their positions until they die or replaced by someone who can still walk and maintain 50% of their short-term memory. Our Commandant is currently deployed in Afghanistan.
