Security

We have established security procedures and policies to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of information under the Marine Corps League’s control. We value your business and are committed to doing everything possible to make our online ordering process 100% secure.

Secure Ordering Process

Using technology provided e-business software, in addition to special security features built into popular browser software, the Marine Corps League site provides you with advanced online security. Any credit card information you enter on our site is heavily encrypted by industry-standard protocol, SSL (Secure Socket Layer). We use SSL to communicate with secure browsers like Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari and AOL. As well as any mobile device you may be using to access our store, as long as that device is configured to handle SSL (most internet ready devices are). These browsers and/or devices encrypt your credit card information in a way that makes it extremely difficult for anyone to decode. If for some reason your browser is not secure this site will not let the purchase continue, so you will know there is a probem and should contact the company who designed your browser or device for Technical Support. Once you have completed your order online, our security procedures do not end. The moment you press "Submit" to send your order, the encrypted information is kept inaccessible and sent directly to our order processing team. Our internal order processing system is not connected to the Internet, so no one can gain access to your information.

Ways to tell when you are in a secure section:
In all browsers, look for the "http" in the URL to "https." The added "S" represents the secure area. The entire ordering process on Ship's Store, from when you decide to checkout until your order is confirmed, is conducted on a secure server. Further, many popular browsers have a symbol to indicate secure mode. To verify that your browser is secure, look at the bottom of your browser's window; Netscape/Firefox displays a solid key and Internet Explorer displays a closed lock.

Placing an Order

When you decide to place an order, you are asked to complete an order form. The order form requires your name, billing and shipping address, credit card number and expiration date. You should also include other information fields such as your telephone number, to allow us to contact you regarding your order if necessary. This information is used to make your shopping experience with us as smooth and pleasant as possible. We do not share this information with any party.

Cookies

When you visit our site, we will request your browser to place a permanent cookie (a very small text file) on your computer or mobile device. If you have your browser configured to accept cookies, it will accept the cookie and place it on your computer's hard drive. We collect this information to analyze where our customers are coming from and how often they visit our site. Registration

In order to identify who you are, we suggest that you register and log-in when you visit our site. This allows us to provide you with your "Order Status" and other information that is uniquely yours.

What Information We Collect

When you choose to place an order with us, you are asked to log-in, so that we can identify who you are. As a newcomer, you will have to register for future identification. This registration is seperate from your registration on our Main Website, and is only used for the Online Semper Fi Store. The registration page asks you to enter your name, a user ID, a password, and your e-mail address. You can update this information at any time.
